I took this picture two weeks ago today in the hopes of finding articulate--and ideally, beautiful--words to accompany it in honor of sweet Patricia of the blog "Simply Balisha" (and another blog for years before that one).  Only a month after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, Pat has entered a hospice facility and has posted her goodbye in her final blog post.  She has found words, and I still have not.  Clergyman Phillips Brooks once shared his belief that none of us can be good without the world somehow being benefited by that person's goodness, and since I can't seem to find my own words this month, I'll simply agree with his as I nod toward Pat.

I did not know your friend..but have just gone to visit..and perused past posts.
A beautiful courageous woman..with an equally courageous family.
Blogs do mean a lot.

To each and every one..that nurtures one..the people we meet..the words we read..

The connections..
They mean a lot..
Patricia said it..and you show us all the time.

Dear Val ~ It has been hard dealing with the news about our dear Balisha.

She is a source of love and encouragement to all of us, even now.

Love and hugs to you ~ FlowerLady

What a wonderfully courageous woman. One can only hope that if faced with the same thing in our own lives we could be half as courageous. (((((hugs))))) Sending you comfort and prayers. I know how it feels to be losing and to lose a very good friend. It hurts beyond imagination, but our lives are left better for them having been in them. Love. xxoo

Balisha/Patricia and I have followed each others blogs for several years. For quite a while she was the first person to comment on my blog as soon as I put up a post. I always loved reading her posts. Her last poem was so beautiful, I will treasure it. She is a truly remarkable person and will be missed by so many. I share your sadness. ~ Diane

I'm sorry for your loss, Diane. I just "met" Pat last year or maybe the year before and wish I'd had more time. Peace to you.
