Six Beauties

A visit to a local butterfly forest exhibit this rain-drenched week was sadly underwhelming in terms of butterflies, but the garden center's statuary and spring blooms were as beautiful as ever.

So pretty, Val! Too bad the butterfly place was a bust.

Thank you all, and yes, Lisa, the butterfly garden was disappointing. The exhibit/garden is open until August, at least, so I will likely try again. I was imagining seeing so many (advertised!) Monarchs, getting shots of butterflies landing on me, their staying still long enough for pictures wherever they landed, and getting pictures of caterpillars too, etc. I only saw a few butterflies, saw no Monarchs at all, no caterpillars at all, and nothing ever landed while I was there, so I didn't get a single picture of anything in the exhibit. It is sad that compared to when I was a kid, I hardly ever see Monarch butterflies (or even their caterpillar-selves) anymore. I was really looking forward to that. Maybe next visit.
